Overview
We are not a youth gathering, age specific ministry, or a church within a church. The Emerging Ministry is a multi-generational and multi-ethnic community of Christ followers situated as an expression of faith within Village Baptist Church. We gather weekly for a time of teaching, singing, prayer, and reflection centered on Christ and His word. This gathering has a different voice teaching the Scriptures to an emerging culture. The worship response uses some of the most current expressions of worship and honors the ancient practices of the church. While we highly value the Sunday gathering, our hope is that our worship of God will flow out of these times and into our daily lives as we interact with the world around us. We believe God is on a mission to restore all of creation, and strive to be a part of that restorative work.

Get Involved
Relationships: God is restoring relationships… our relationships with each other, and our relationship with Him. In our service, we see this value expressed through participation in Life groups, in our Sunday Gathering, and in Fellowship times.
Justice: We believe that God is restoring Justice to the world, and that he invites us to be a part of that work. Our service partners with Barnes Elementary and Portland Rescue Mission to help see justice restored. Beauty: As a part of God’s restorative work, he is restoring Beauty to the world. Our service expresses this value through worship and other creative works. If you are interested in being a part of the worship team or participating through the creative arts, please contact Renjy Abraham.
