Overview
Collision is our High School Ministry at Village. A place where your world collides with the person of Christ leaving us changed forever. What we do is a combination of high energy events, video, music, competitions, and multimedia with messages that are practical and relevant to issues students face daily. This is a place where spiritual growth, worship, inspiration, digging deeper, prayer, communion, and deeper understanding of your relationship with God happens. Come check us out, we would love to meet you!

Student Leadership
“The Core” exists to give students an opportunity to take more ownership of their youth Group by planning events, digging deeper into God’s word and being challenged to share their faith. Space is limited, requires commitment and application.

Adult Volunteer – [description] [Form]
Today we face a world where Christian values seem to have been forgotten, where truth is relative and the question of God is moving from whether He exists to “What is His name?” You can be an active part of change in the life of a young person as they discover the God who made them, loves them and knows them by name. If working with High School students is something that intrigues you, there is a need that you can fill, there is a mission that you can be a part of, and there is a generation that will love you for it.
BE A GENERATION OF CHANGE!
*Not everyone who applies for a place on our volunteer staff will obtain a position. Working with High School students in this area is a privilege and not a right. In an effort to endure the quality of mentorship that our students will receive we will be very selective in our adult leadership team.
Parents are welcome to apply as long as they understand that the same guidelines will apply.
Global Ministry
Malaria Nets
During the 2010/2011 school year MS and HS student offerings, from the weekends, will be going toward the purchase of Malaria Nets in Africa. Malaria is an Epidemic that can be stopped and we have the opportunity to be a part of that. It costs us $10 to save one life by providing a them with a net designed to keep out the mosquitoes.
Resources
Living with Questions- Dale Fincher
Comments: Living with Questions addresses tough theological questions that students ask and adults rarely answer fully. Philosopher, storyteller, and popular campus speaker, Dale Fincher addresses The Questions- a series of seven core, life-defining questions asked by high school and college students across the country- in a style that is personal and imaginative.
The Case for Christ- Lee Strobel
Comments: The Case for Christ records Lee Strobel’s attempt to “determine if there’s credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God.” The book consists primarily of interviews between Strobel and biblical scholars. Each interview is based on a simple question, concerning historical evidence (for example, “Can the Biographies of Jesus Be Trusted?”), scientific evidence, (“Does Archaeology Confirm or Contradict Jesus’ Biographies?), and “psychiatric evidence” (“Was Jesus Crazy When He Claimed to Be the Son of God?”. Together, these interviews compose a case brief defending Jesus’ divinity, and urging readers to reach a verdict of their own.
The Deity Formerly Known as God- Jarrett Stevens
Comments: To understand who God really is, we need to align our images of God with the truth found in the Bible. The Deity Formerly Known as God helps readers release the destructive images they’ve created of God while embracing the constructive images shown in Scripture.
Starving Jesus- Craig Gross
Comments: I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you have me no drink…It’s time to STOP STARVING JESUS. In other words…it’s time for Christians to get off their comfortable seats near the back of the sanctuary get out in the world. Authors Craig Gross and JR Mahon challenge fellow Christ-followers to stop talking about being spiritual, and start being spiritual- by rolling up their sleeves and serving a world desperate for the hope Christ offers.
