Life verse: Colossians 3:17 – “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

Testimony: My godly mother led me to Jesus as a child of 8, the same year I began piano lessons. I began as a minister of music at age 18 and have continued to serve the Church musically ever since. God has been wonderful to me on so many levels, wife, family, occupation, church families, and friends. It is a rich privilege to be His child and to seek to please Him daily as I learn more of what it means to “grow in His likeness.”

Who are the important people in your life? Jesus, my wife and family, students, colleagues and the greater body of Christ.

What is your day job? Retired (5/2010) after 50 years in the classroom as teacher, professor/pastor and mentor.

What do you like to do in your free time? Visit, think, woodworking, model building (model airplanes) practice and write.

What do you love to do in ministry? (see life verse)

What is something most people don’t know about you? I would rather be making music than listening to it! I have very broad musical taste; if there is authentic artistry, I’m interested.

How did you first come to Village? Why did you stay? I came to Village first in 1977 and several more occasions as a Professor at Western; this time I stayed because I was invited to lead the choir and I love the ministry of Dean and John enough to want to be a part of it. I am rapidly learning to love the wonderful people who make up our choir!

What’s on your reading list? THE DIVINE CONSPIRACY by Dallas Willard; A MUSICIAN LOOKS AT THE PSALMS by Don Wyrtzen (a close personal friend.)
