Testimony: When I was 9 years old, a traveling preacher and his wife came to our church. While he talked about how sin had destroyed us and the world we live in, she did a pastel chalk painting. The beauty she depicted contrasted so greatly with the condition he described. At one point, he began talking about Jesus, and how He was sent to restore people and all of creation into right relationship with God. At the moment he explained how Jesus’ death and resurrection was the beginning of God setting things right, a cross appeared on her painting (with the help of a black light). It sounds kinda crazy, but God used the artistry of that moment to cause me to see my need for Jesus to restore me. I responded that night by receiving His forgiveness and committing myself to follow Him.

Who are the important people in your life? My wife, our adult children (and their spouses), and our grandson – along with a handful of close friends.

What is your day job? Same as my night job.

What do you like to do in your free time? Fishing and spending time with my family.

What do you love to do in ministry? Connect people with God.

How did you first come to Village? Why did you stay? I had two job interviews lined up… the guy from the other church didn’t show.
