Life Verse: 1 Peter 3:12 – “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Testimony:

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 12 in the city of my birth, San Salvador, El Salvador. I was baptized at the age of 15 in the Central Church of the Central American Mission. In 1997, I began to serve the Lord. I attended high school in San Salvador and immigrated to Vancouver, BC in 1987. In 1988, Rev. David Rodriguez came to the city with a vision of beginning a ministry. I became involved in his vision and working alongside Pastor David, the ministry grew. I married my wife Aleida in 1990 and we have five beautiful children. Part of the mission of our church was to travel to other countries outside of Canada. While in Guatemala City, I attended SETECA (Central American Seminary), one of the best known Spanish language seminaries, where I earned the title of “Professor of Theology.” In the years that followed, I traveled to Honduras and Cuba where I labored in a variety of pastoral ministries; preaching, training lay leaders, and directing radio programs. The Lord placed in our hearts the desire to serve within the Hispanic community in the United States. I recently served as President of the Northwest Evangelical Hispanic Association. My vision is to create a stronger bond between both the individual Spanish language congregations and our sister Anglo churches.

Our goal in the ministry is to pastor, to develop spiritual growth and bring people to the feet of our Savior. We pray for a church that shares our vision of evangelizing and discipling. We do not want to be seen as simple hirelings, but as servants working together in the church, to build it up. The Word says, “the harvest is great, but the laborers are few; pray that the Lord of the harvest will send laborers.” My family is willing to continue the challenge set before us for the rest of our lives.
