About VIA

It’s popping up around the campus and you might be scratching your head. Isn’t VIA a coffee drink?

Although we might be fans of the local coffee company who also uses that term, our use of VIA is a bit different.

VIA stands for Vision in Action. At the core of our vision is the goal of connecting people to Christ in our community and around the world. Our actions are what make that happen.

It’s happening through all our ministries here at Village and with you. After all, you are the Vision in Action.

Part of Vision in Action is communicating all the amazing things God is doing through Villagers – in a sense, telling our story. We hope as you hear these stories, you’ll be encouraged and want to be a part of the story.  There are so many ways to do this. Pick up a “Get Connected” brochure from the information counter and check out the opportunities to get plugged in at Village. Then, make the leap – fill out a Get Connected card and be a part of Village’s story.

A big part of being the Vision in Action is investing in the story; investing our time and resources. A significant challenge before us is the debt remaining on our new Worship Center. If left to a few of us, it is overwhelming.  Shared by all of us, we can reduce, if not retire it.  Who wants to give money to interest, when it should go toward ministry? How much Kingdom work will be deferred if we don’t quickly eliminate this debt?

On December 5th, we came together for Light the Night, a time to corporately celebrate all God has done through Villagers as we seek to be a light in our world.   God is good and we’re continuing to receive pledges from our “Light the Night” event. If you haven’t turned yours in yet, you can drop it by the church office or bring it with you this weekend. Thanks to all of you who have sacrificially pledged to reduce/retire the remaining building debt! We appreciate you!   “With my God, I can leap over a wall” Psalm 18:29.

If you have any questions about VIA or the efforts to retire the building debt, please contact Pastor Jim at jimm@vbconline.org
