Who: Dr. Gregory Knopf
Gregory Knopf, M.D. is an associate clinical professor in Family Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University and the founder and medical director of Gresham-Troutdale Family Medical Center where he cares for over 100 people each week. He is considered an expert in the understanding and use of anti-depressant medications. He regularly speaks to pastors and ministry leaders as well as to varied lay audiences, including medical professionals, Christian organizations, churches, Bible Colleges and Seminaries.
As a family practice physician for over 30 years, he educates and helps people understand the dynamics of depression, as well as treating whatever illness a person may be facing, offering hope and treatment options through a multi-disciplinary approach.
Dr. Knopf has served in church leadership positions, as an elder and co led a church plant. He lives on a 26 acre working farm with his wife, Bonnie, and has three adult children.
Who: Dr. Gary H. Lovejoy
Dr. Gary Lovejoy has, for over 34 years, conducted his private counseling practice where he has extensive experience serving individuals, couples, and families. He continues an active private practice with Valley View Counseling Services, LLC in Portland, Oregon, of which he is the founder. Dr. Lovejoy was a professor of both psychology and religion at Mt. Hood Community College for 32 years. He earned a master’s degree in religious education from Fuller Theological Seminary as well as a master’s in psychology at California State University, Los Angeles, and completed his doctorate in psychology while attending the United States International University. Dr. Lovejoy has conducted numerous seminars on depression and been the keynote speaker at many family camps, couple’s retreats and college conferences. Dr. Lovejoy and his wife, Sue, have two adult children. He is co-author of Light on the Fringe: Finding Hope in the Darkness of Depression.
